Urgent & Emergency-Case Veterinary Care
We provide assessment for dogs and cats experiencing illness or injury that may require urgent attention. Appointments are required and scheduled by phone based on medical urgency. On weekends, care is dedicated to urgent cases with set appointment times during clinic operating hours.
Urgent assessments are intended for pets with sudden or concerning changes in health. A veterinary examination helps determine the severity of the concern and whether immediate treatment, further diagnostics, monitoring, or referral is most appropriate based on findings.
When to seek urgent care
Urgent assessment may be appropriate for concerns such as:
• Not eating or drinking
• Vomiting or diarrhea that is ongoing or worsening
• Sudden lethargy or weakness
• Difficulty breathing
• Straining to urinate or defecate
• Pain, lameness, or sudden injury
• Concerns that feel urgent to you as a pet owner
Urgent and emergency-case assessments are provided during both weekday and weekend operating hours.
An emergency examination fee applies for urgent or emergency-case assessments. Fee structure may differ between weekdays and weekends.
This fee covers the initial veterinary assessment. Additional diagnostics and treatment vary by patient and are discussed before proceeding.
Payment is due at the time of service.
Only the urgent or emergency examination fee differs between weekdays and weekends. Diagnostic tests, treatments, medications, and procedures are priced the same regardless of day.
This reflects the additional staffing and resources required to provide timely urgent assessments outside regular weekday schedules, while keeping all other medical care consistent.
What to Expect During an Urgent Visit?
We understand that urgent visits can be stressful, and our team aims to guide you through the process with clear communication at each step.
When you contact us, our team will ask a few questions to understand your pet’s condition and determine the most appropriate next steps. Urgent and emergency-case visits are scheduled based on medical urgency and current availability rather than on a walk-in basis.
Once your pet is assessed, recommended diagnostics or treatment options and associated costs are reviewed before proceeding. Our goal is to provide timely, organized care during clinic operating hours while setting clear expectations for your visit. Where appropriate, our team prioritizes early comfort measures while diagnostic and treatment options are being discussed.
This approach allows us to focus on your pet’s needs while minimizing uncertainty around the visit process.
